The village of Barumini, (65km from Cagliari) is renowned for its major archeological site of Su Nuraxi: a preistoric village of the stone Nuraghe building, dating circa 1500 b.c.. The tour includes a visit to “Casa Zapata” – an old Spanish style mansion built over a Nuraghe tower, now turned into a museum. After an optional lunch in a local restaurant, transfer to the highlands of Giara (4 km.) where you can view a colony of 500 indigenous small horses in their natural habitat.
