Island of San Pietro - Carloforte

Length: 1 day

The island of S.Pietro and the local town of Carloforte were colonised by a community of Genoese fishermen in the mid- 1700.  The language, customs and cooking traditions of the original community are still preserved today, and give this island a unique flavour, also  influenced by its closeness to Africa and shaped by the excellent fishing facilities available on the island.
S. Pietro  is a stunning location of varied attractions: from vertical cliffs plunging on emerald waters, to colonies of pink flamingoes to windswept beaches and flowered plains. Departure from your home or hotel in the morning, transfer to Portovesme (1hr), boarding on the ferry to Carloforte ( 20 mns.). Boat tours of the island are available with advance booking.
